Sydney runs soft water, so the scale that destroys tanks elsewhere is not the story here. Nine failures in ten come down to a spent sacrificial anode or a dead element, and both are frequently repairable.

Once a unit is past twelve you would be putting money into a tank whose lining is nearly finished no matter what caused today’s fault. In between, it turns on what has gone and what the inside of the tank looks like once it is open. You will know which before we quote.
